This illustrated lecture outlines the historical background of the main exhibition theme - blue - in cross-cultural contexts. It gives an introductory view to the exhibition concept and features some highlights from the objects and works of paper on display.

Dr. Yuka Kadoi studied Islamic art at the University of Edinburgh and has authored numerous publications, including Islamic Chinoiserie (2009). Her research interests range from the art of pre-modern Islamic Eurasia to the reception of Islamic art in modern times. Dr. Kadoi is the curator of the exhibition The Blue Road: Mastercrafts from Persia organised by Liang Yi Museum.
